Today in class, we finished going over the powerpoint about Luther and Reformation of the church. We talked about the actions Martin Luther took in order to reform and change the Church. He rallied a good amount of people up and protested the pope. Then he was excommunicated from the church. So he took o another identity an escaped the Diet of Worms. The Diet of Worms was an assembly of the city Worms in Germany. They believed he should stay in Worms until he relaxes and cools down. But he escaped and went back to Wittenberg where people have made their own religions and follow what Luther wanted people of the Catholic church to follow all of the time.

Today in class, we started a power point on Luther and Reformation. We talked a lot about the Catholic church and how the pope used to run it. We also talked about how priests and monks would break their three vows and drink excessively and gamble. We then talked about Luther and his upcoming in the Catholic church and how he wrote the 95 theses statements. Luther wanted to reform the Catholic church because it was not what God wanted. Luther did good things for the church. We only got through 11 out of 15 slides though. We will pick it up tomorrow.

utopia-ideal place an; imaginary land
William Shakespeare- Famous writer, wrote plays
Johann Gutenberg- Inventor of the Gutenberg press produced books quickly
2)I think the Gutenberg press because it could produce books much faster than a person could and it could replicate religious works which many people could afford and buy at low costs.
3) Because he was the only artist who drew things as they really were and he drew living things. He was one of the only artists who drew animals such as his famous painting "young hare"
4) Its art because artists started to draw and paint things and depict them as they really were, such as the Mona Lisa who was painted exactly how she looked and it is known that the eyes follow you.
5) Printing changed society by making information inexpensive and available enough for society at large. Greater availability of books led to a greater quest for knowledge and literacy. Published maps and charts led to great discoveries in a variety of fields. People began to question political structures and religious practices.

Today in class, we went over the powerpoint about reformation again. We talked about patrons and artists they sponsored. Like d'Este, she sponsored almost all of the greatest artists of all time. For example, she sponsored Da Vinci, Michaelangelo, and many more. She was also an artist herself. Her parents were wealthy and powerful and passed that down to her. We then talked about Michaelangelo's sculptures and paintings in the churches. He was a creative genius.

Today in class, we took our fifty point test on Rome. I ain't gonna lie, I feel like I didn't do too hot. A couple of questions I drew a blank and had no clue what the answer was. I studied a lot for this test too. I have no clue what went wrong. But I am praying that I did well. Because if I didn't, I am going to be in trouble at home... And I don't want that. But after the test, we were allowed to go on our laptops, so I got a bunch of work done.

Today in class, we reviewed more for the test. We went through a power point that talked about the differences and similarities between the us now and rome. We also talked about what kind of government time had and used while they were the power house of the ancient time. They used a republic with representatives. Kind of like what we use today. We also discussed their military tactics and how they won so many battles. But we also talked about how they fell from the throne.

I do believe the United States is on a decline like the Roman empire once was. A couple of reasons are a paid army, economic decline, and always being at war. These are all similar to the reasons why Rome fell. The paid military does bring its advantages but some people lack the patriotism to actually fight for our country. When Romes citizens lost its pride, the emperors had to rely on mercenaries to defend them, but all they wanted was a paycheck for showing up. Even though that doesn't happen a lot nowadays, it still happens. The economic decline plays a big part because of inflation, all of the prices are high and money is worth less than it was before. Making it hard for people to "stay afloat' and be successful. This winds up causing crime and revolts/riots because the poor have to find a way for food and money. This happened in Rome. The people destroyed their empire themselves. The last one is were constantly stepping into other people wars. This causes lots of debt and deaths. This kills off a lot of men and women. Causing families to not rely on the government for protection. This leaves us at risk for an easy attack. The United States is on a slow decline like Rome.
